When I join a new agile team I often find people standing far away from the board during the daily standup (scrum) meeting. It’s a recurring pattern which I don’t really understand.
Standing close to the board enables people to point to the ticket they are talking about. It also makes it easier to read what’s written on tickets and it makes it easier to move tickets – simply because they are easy to grab without having to move much.
There’s more interaction and activity which results in better coordination. And that’s the main purpose of the daily standup meeting.
